Doctors Day


National Doctor’s Day is celebrated every year on 1st July to recognise the contributions and services of all the Physicians to our lives and ultimately to the Nation.
National Doctor’s Day is being observed in India every year on 1st July since 1991 which was first officially instituted by the Indian Medical Association (IMA), the date was chosen to honour one of the legendary physician belonging to West Bengal that is none other than Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, who had made numerous contributions to the field. He was born on this day in 1882 and also died on the same day in 1962 at the age of 80 years who was also honoured with the country’s highest Civilian award Bharat Ratna on February 4th 1961. The celebration of this day is a noble attempt to put emphasis on the role played by all the Doctors in our lives. This day is to thank all the doctors for their hard work and commitment. The importance of doctors has definitely come to the forefront with the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. Program was held in the school to enlighten the staff and the school invited guests (Doctors). On this occasion the program was a kind of interaction between the teachers and the Doctors, where the teachers raised several questions in relation to covid-19, Black fungus and many more regarding the pandemic.Doctors explained about the precautionary measures to be taken in this pandemic, Doctors clarified many doubts and created awareness related to the Covid and Black fungus which was very helpful to everyone.

1)   Dr.Raghavendra(currently working as a lecturer in medical department VIMS ,Ballari)
2)   Dr . Uma Maheshwari currently working as an associate professor in general medicine department VIMS and is also working as Covid nodal officer of VIMS , Ballari since last year) It is important to respect them and take out the time to thank them for taking care of our health in the best possible ways. This year the theme of Doctor’s Day 2021 is – “Building the future with the family doctors”.
